Glasses Malone - 211

"The song '211' was meant for the 'Beach Cruiser' album, but there wasn't enough time to clear the samples" commented Glasses. "The song represents the West, where I'm from and pays homage to music I grew up listening to, so I had to get it out to the fans. I'm rapping over classic beats from Snoop Dogg, Ice Cube and Westside Connection. It doesn't get more West Coast than that."

Thurz - 'L.A. Riot' Release Party (Recap)

Matthew McFarline has a nice recap of Thurz's release party for L.A. Riot. Check it out below and if you haven't purchased the album, make sure to do so below. You won't be disappointed, it is easily one of the best albums of the year!

All I can say is wow… seriously. Last night was impressive as Thurz held his official release party for his new album, L.A. RIOT. The event took place at the Papillion Institute of Art located in downtown LA. As you entered the gallery, you were greeted by a huge portrait of Thurz, and window panes that had the numbers 92 in them. Continuing inside was the DJ, famous quotes, a wall with things people riot for, a mugshot station, bar, and video screen. Each piece of the gallery was interactive and allowed people to interact with one another all night at each station.

Thurz did his thing as he hosted the event. He performed a few tracks of the album, Dope, Los Angeles, Colors, and 2 others, showed a mini documentary, and went around and chopped it up with friends and fans.

Oh yea, if you didn’t know it was also Thurz’ birthday. Talk about good timing for everything.

Overall, the night was ill. Everyone had a good time, met a lot of good people, and had a solid experience. You know this wouldn’t be complete with out a tons of photos, so check a few below and all the rest on our FB page right HERE.
