The city of Portland is a city filled with diversity and has a strong sense of originality. Portlands slogan for the city; Keep Portland Weird displays how its citizens feel about keeping things original and creative. As a city known for its rain, trees, Nike and the Trail Blazers, it lacks the feeling of having a strong hip-hop scene. Now - finally - from a city confronted with daily disappointment and underacheviement from its music industry, there is a glimmer of hope.
Wingate; A 21 year old young man born on the Westside of the city shows the potential to blow up and put Portland on the map for its music.
