Kendrick Lamar likes to compare himself to Tupac Shakur. But Tupac wasn't from Los Angeles and didn't know his father growing up. By the time Tupac was 23, he had already been shot multiple times and begun serving a prison sentence. Lamar, on the other hand, was born and raised in Compton. His parents are still married. He's 23, and so far he has dodged the almost inescapable bullets that dart through what he calls his "mad city."

Looks like SAS had this DJ Khalil track before Eminem, way back in 2007.
We recorded this record in August of 07 and turned it in to our formal label Warner Bros in October ( hence the A & R, Naim, is listed at the top ). If you look at the sequence you will see that it was #2 in our original tracklist. A cool fact, it ended up being the second song on the 10 time Grammy Nominated Eminem LP Recovery. I told Khalil this was a hit 5 years ago and it served to be one. Here goes our version (minus Mitchy Slick), we had planned to get Luda on this joint….Enjoy – Arms & Hammers 2.22.11 -Krondon
