FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:
Oakland, CA - Bay Area-famed rapper Mistah F.A.B. will release the follow-up to his early-2011 project “I Found My Backpack” with “I Found My Backpack 2 – The Lost Notebook” on December 6th, 2011.
Having juggled with different fan bases his entire career - from the street crowd to complex lyricists - F.A.B. is using his "I Found My Backpack" series to prove that he is not only one of the best freestylers around but also a gifted songwriter. The Prince Of The Bay called on to an impressive all-star cast of lyricists to come join him on the project: Talib Kweli, Jadakiss, Royce Da 5’9, Noreaga, Prodigy, Rapper Big Pooh, Andre Nickatina, San Quinn, The Grouch and Erk Tha Jerk are some of the MC's featured on "I Found My Backpack 2".
About the new album, Fabby Davis Jr. explains, “I did a project earlier this year called ‘I Found My Backpack,’ and it actually did well. A lot of people liked it, and it didn’t sell like a miraculous amount of numbers. But what it did was, it made people who may not have been familiar with my ability to do things like that kinda go, ‘Dude can really rap rap!’ So I followed it up with part 2, and part 2 is like on steroids. It’s dope, man.”
For the past decade, Mistah F.A.B. has been steadily making noise in the Bay Area and expanding his buzz to a national level along with the Hyphy movement. Though that movement has long been put to a halt, it has not impeded Mistah F.A.B. in the least bit. With his “I Found My Backpack” album receiving positive ratings from critics, he is ready to repeat that success with the sequel – “I Found My Backpack 2 – The Lost Notebook.”
“When you listen to my records, you never know what you’re going to get. But to me, I utilize it more to my advantage than a curse, because it’s actually a gift,” says Mistah F.A.B. “Nowadays when you listen to rap, all rappers sound the same. I think that I’ve embodied and taken full advantage of my ability to sound different on every song.”
Fans will get the opportunity to hear songs from throughout the spectrum on “I Found My Backpack 2: The Lost Notebook” – from street music, to party songs to political raps. And as the guest features indicated - this project is bigger and goes beyond than just the Bay Area. It’s a nationwide movement.
Mistah F.A.B.’s “I Found My Backpack 2: The Lost Notebook” will be available on December 6th, 2011 via Faeva Afta Ent/EMPIRE Distribution on iTunes and all digital retailers.
